| MANASQUAN, NJ -- March 19, 2009: The most significant changes to the HIPAA privacy law since its inception was signed into law by President Obama as part of the new stimulus package approved by both houses of Congress.
All covered entities will be affected by the HIPAA provisions included in the economic American Recover and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The Privacy Rule protects all "individually identifiable health information" held or transmitted by a covered entity or its business associate, in any form or media, whether electronic, paper, or oral. |
